SE Rhone Street (from SE 52nd to SE 54th) and SE 54th (from SE Bush to SE Rhone) will be completely closed and subject to towing from January 24 through January 31 due to PGE power pole replacements.

Please plan ahead by leaving early, as traffic and parking will be affected. We recommend parking on SE 54th Avenue between SE Rhone Street and SE Lafayette Street to avoid the closures. Please also keep an eye on your email for a map illustrating these closures.

During the chiropractic business transition, you may receive notification from your insurance carrier indicating that we are no longer contracted with your plan. This notice is a formality as we move to a new business entity. You are still covered for chiropractic care in this clinic. Please continue your care without hesitation. If you have any concerns or would like assistance, you can submit a copy of the notification to officemanager@apexpdx.com.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Chiropractors adjust spines and joints that have become restricted in their motion or movement, usually resulting from tissue. This damage could be from a single event, such as improperly lifting a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position for an extended period of time. This injured tissue can cause inflammation, pain and diminished function. Scar tissue—also known as tissue fibrosis—is a late effect of inflammation and can form if the injury is not properly treated. Manipulating or adjusting the affected joints and tissue restores mobility, alleviates pain and muscle tightness and allows the tissue to heal.

Besides adjusting, we use many other therapies, including laser, Kinesio Tape, electric stimulation, heat, ultrasound and Graston Technique®. Graston is one way to address tissue damage. It’s an innovative form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes stainless steel instruments to detect and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis.

Because tissue damage can lead to further injury or can even require surgery if ignored, it’s best to seek treatment for the initial injury. Apex Wellness focuses on “prehabilitation” to help patients heal without surgery when possible, and physical rehabilitation after a surgery. Apex Wellness can also help athletes prevent sports injuries and find healing after an injury, and has a certified chiropractic sports physician on staff.

I come from a long line of healthcare providers in my family, with my journey beginning in the dental field at the age of 15. I thrived in the role as a licensed dental assistant for 12 years before deciding to pursue a career in which I could provide care to patients directly. I was passionate about the “hands on” nature of dentistry and was becoming more passionate about learning holistic approaches to health and wellness. I was encouraged by my sister to consider a chiropractic career as she had served as a chiropractic assistant for several years and was able to recognize that my passion for hands-on work and holistic healthcare would flourish as a chiropractor. After touring the UWS campus in 2016 and learning about the chiropractic program, I made the move from California to Washougal, Washington to begin my educational journey.

I graduated in 2020 with honors from the University of Western States (UWS) where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic. My practice is driven by a passion to help patients to become active participants in their care and take charge of their health. I want patients to be able to understand their symptoms, how their body works and how we can work together to manage symptoms and resolve acute and chronic problems. I want to keep you active in all of the various things you love to do! I believe that given the right support using chiropractic manipulation, soft tissue therapy, lifestyle coaching, and rehab–we can get the most out of our bodies. I utilize various chiropractic techniques (diversified, drop table, activator, ArthroStim) which are tailored to each individual patient, their needs and goals for care.

When not in the clinic, I can be found walking trails with my pup Lola, perusing Costco for samples and sales or dancing in the kitchen cooking up a storm!
